William "Larry" Nelson

Graveside service will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, OK under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

William "Larry" Nelson, 69, of Tuttle, OK passed away Saturday, September 11, 2021.

Larry was born July 21, 1952 in Kermit, TX to Ted & Sybil Nelson. He graduated from Canadian High School in 1970. Received his BS in 1974 from West Texas University.

Larry married Vickey Patterson on January 8, 1971. They lived and raised children, Daniel Wayne, Jimmy Richard & Keri Ann, in Briscoe, TX. During those years he worked as Manager of the County Line Co-op and Perryton Equity in Canadian, TX. He enjoyed trap shooting and quail hunting with his friends and sons. He spent many years breeding and raising German Short Hairs. He was a member of the Briscoe School Board and a volunteer to the Briscoe Fire Department. He also was a member of the Rotary Club in Canadian, TX. He loved spending time in the mountains and his grandkids lit up his world.

He married his wife Dale Nelson, December 30, 2008. The made their home in Tuttle, OK. They enjoyed going fishing, camping, and traveling. His dream was to take Dale to Yellow Stone National Park. They also enjoyed sitting and visiting with their neighbors. He worked for IFC for 17 years until retirement August 1, 2021. He and Dale have their little dog Opie which was a joy to him. His neighbors Jim and Darlene Bynum, John Williams, Travis Scafe, and Steve Ingraham have been such a blessing to Larry and Dale. They have helped out so much when time was needed.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, Ted Nelson; his mother, Sybil Alexander; and his sister, Susan Thompson.

Larry is survived by his wife pf the home Dale Nelson; children, son, Danny Nelson of Pampa, TX, son, Jimmy Nelson of Briscoe, TX & girlfriend Christie Peery, daughter, Keri Bullock & husband Michael of Shamrock, TX, step-son, Calvin McDaniel of Oklahoma City, OK & girlfriend Angela Ketch; grandchildren: Danielle Nelson & wife Melissa, Amy Murray & husband Zach, Haylee Nelson, Caden Nelson, Audree Nelson, Austen Nelson, Angel McDaniel, Alycia McDaniel, and Angelina McDaniel; 2 great-grandchildren, Avorie and Oaklee Murray; sister-in-laws: Cathy Dean, Cathy Hooper, Linda Kirkham, and Susie Cox; and many other loving relatives: Nieces, Aunt's, Uncle's, and Cousins.
