Wanda Gearline Sipe

Wanda Gearline Sipe, 82, of Tuttle, Oklahoma passed away August 1, 2019. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 7, 2019, Southwest Church of Christ, 3031 SW 104 ^th St., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73159. Minister Ricky (Bud) Popejoy will be officiating. Burial will follow with graveside services at Fairview Cemetery in Tuttle, 1001 E. Rock Creek Rd. Family viewing of Wanda will be on Monday, August 5, at Sevier Funeral Home, 105 W Main St., Tuttle, OK 73089 from 5:00 PM till 7:00PM.

Memorials may be made to the Tipton's Children's Home.

Wanda was born at home in Tuttle, Oklahoma, on November 10, 1936, to Hada and Henry Klippel. She was the second of four children. She graduated from Tuttle High school in 1954 where she was the class valedictorian.    She worked in her parents' restaurant, participated in band, and was a very good basketball player.

Wanda married Gerald Phillip Sipe at the Tuttle Church of Christ on November 25, 1954.  Her life's passion was her family.  She had never changed a diaper before her first child but dedicated herself to becoming a wonderful mother.   She taught all of them to love and serve The Lord.   She worked at many different professions during her life:  home day care, manufacturing, legal secretary and finally as the high school registrar for Tuttle High School where she retired in 2001.  She helped Gerald ran his garage door business for an additional 11 years and completely retired in 2013. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ where she taught many child and adult classes.  Her home was always open and she loved having a family gathering or company.

Her hobbies included: cooking: especially dessert making; traveling (she and Gerald saw 36 out of 50 states), reading, and OU Football.

Wanda is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Gerald Sipe; her parents, Hada and Henry Klippel; her brother, Ealmer Klippel; grandson, Talon Jay Heath and granddaughter, Meghan Andrea Heath.

She is survived by her children Lorinda Sipe, Kathy Corlee and husband Chris, Phillip Sipe and wife Sonja, Robert Sipe and wife Lisa, Mona Popejoy and husband Ricky, and Tracy Sipe and wife Sharon; 14 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her siblings Hada Terrell, and Edith & Lex Pierce.  Also by her in-law family:  Loretta & Forest O'Hara, David & Ginger Sipe, Donna & Doyle Harryman, and Paula McDaniel.  And a great host of nieces and nephews.
