Walter Charles Hayes

Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 10, 2021 at the Sevier Funeral Home Chapel, Chickasha, OK. Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Walter Charles Hayes, of Chickasha, OK, passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021 in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 80. He was born January 1, 1941 in Dibble, OK to Clyde and Ruby Hayes.

Walter grew up in Dibble until he was 8 years old then he and his family moved down to Altus, OK for his teenage years. Walter eventually made his way to Chickasha where he remained for the rest of his life. He loved to raise animals such as chickens and goats but especially rabbits. Walter owned and operated Big "C" Tree Service in Chickasha and served his community through landscaping and tree trimming.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Ruby Hayes; wife, Sheila Hayes; sons, Eddie and Tim Hayes; first wife, Loretta Frazile; 4 sisters: Lois, Ann, Juanita, and Ruth; and 4 brothers: Lloyd, Cleo, Jack, and Albert.

Walter is survived by his son, Walter Lee Hayes and wife Linda of Cement, OK; step-daughters, Andrea and husband Mike Chavers of Chickasha, OK, Angel Arrington and husband Joshua Stewart of Chickasha, OK; and sister, Julie Wells; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
