Viola Mae (McNeff) Alexander was born on April 29, 1936, at St. Anthony hospital in Oklahoma City to George and Esther McNeff. She passed away on March 19, 2026 at St Anthony’s hospital. Viola is survived by her son, Brian John Rich; grandson, Brandon Sanders; Viola was the eldest of four children. Her siblings are George McNeff, Jr. and wife, Shirley, Betty Harryman and Larry McNeff and wife, Jane. Viola also has many nieces and nephews: Dennis McNeff, Donnie McNeff, Debbie (McNeff) Gorton, Dayla (McNeff) Morris, Brenda (Harryman) Wendling, Becki (Harryman) Christner, Kim McNeff, Kyle McNeff and Kevin McNeff.

Viola was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law, Bob Harryman, sister-in-law, Lou McNeff and nephew, David McNeff.

Viola attended Tuttle Public Schools and graduated in 1955. After graduation from high school, she attended business school in Oklahoma City and met her good friend, Velma Miller. Upon completion of the business program, she moved to California where she worked as a secretary. She later moved back to Oklahoma and worked for Kerr McGee for many years.

Viola was her son Brian’s biggest fan and supported him in all of his interests and endeavors. She enjoyed gardening and the outdoors. She was a hard worker. She also enjoyed sewing and made much of her own clothing. Viola took great interest in her family’s ancestry and created a type of museum sharing pictures, memorabilia and documents in her home. This took her on several road trips with her sister, Betty. Viola also cherished her friendships, of which there were many. She was so good about keeping in touch with her friends and family, by letters, cards or phone calls. Some of her lifelong friends were Velma, whom she spoke with often, and Maryann Osborn, who would always bring her favorite cupcakes on her birthday. We will all miss her very much.
