Vergie Lou Conner

Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 27, 2022, at First Baptist Church Tuttle, Tuttle, Oklahoma. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, Oklahoma under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Vergie Lou (Robinett) Conner of Tuttle, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2022, in Blanchard, Oklahoma at the age of 101. She was born August 19, 1920, in Tuttle, Oklahoma to William Lafayette and Eva Line (Marlow) Robinett.

Vergie grew up in Tuttle and attended Walden Schools until 8th grade. She then went to Bridge Creek High School where she graduated. She married the love of her life, Joe Richard Conner, in August of 1940 one year after graduating. They lovingly raised 3 children, Bobby Joe, Anna Louise, and J.B. "Shorty". Vergie and Joe lived in Tuttle their whole lives and raised their family there. Vergie and Joe were married for 64 years before Joe passed in 2005. She worked for Tuttle Public Schools for 11 years as a Cafeteria cook and later as the Cafeteria manager. Vergie loved gardening, quilting, cooking meals for her family, and playing cards and dominos. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and especially her great-great-grandchildren who were very special to her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William Lafayette Robinett and Eva Line (Marlow) Robinett; husband, Joe Richard Conner; brothers: Oscar, Ted, Virgil, Warren, Wes, and Jim; sisters: Goldie, Georgia, and Jesse, as well as another sibling who passed away at birth; daughter-in-law, Pearl Conner.

Vergie is survived by her children, Bobby Joe Conner, and wife, Jenna, Anna Louise Brumlow, and J.B. "Shorty" Conner; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Clyda Robinett; as well as numerous other nieces and nephews and family.
