Theda Amerson

To honor Theda's memory there will be a celebration of life on Monday February 13 ^th at Sevier Funeral Home in Chickasha at 10am. We invite anyone who knew her to join the family in honoring her life.

Theda Bell Amerson, Passed peacefully from this Life on February 8, 2023 in Chickasha, Oklahoma surrounded by loved ones.

Theda was born December 8, 1936 in Enid, Oklahoma to William and Martha Rhamy. She was raised with her 14 siblings in Cushing, Oklahoma where she attended school until the 8 ^th grade. Theda had 4 Children, Mark, Karol, Diana and Rick prior to relocating to Chickasha. In 1969, Theda met the love of her life, Robert Amerson and they were married on July 2. They soon thereafter welcomed a Daughter together, Robin. Theda was a homemaker all of her life. She ironed for years and babysat many generations of children in the community. Theda was a kind and selfless soul who always put others needs before her own. She had a contagious smile, gentle heart and never knew a stranger. She was a loving and devout mother but her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren were her true joy.  She led a warm and full life filled with love. She will be fondly remembered and sorrowfully missed.

Theda was preceded in death by both parents and all 14 siblings. She was survived by her husband Robert Amerson of 53 years. Son Mark O'Kelly of Altus, Daughter Karol Jenkins and Husband Ronnie of Chickasha, Daughter Diana Berten and Husband Michael of Chickasha, Son Rick Amerson and Wife Sherri of Chickasha and Daughter Robin Malone and Husband Leon of Chickasha. Grand Children Jerry Berten, Dolores Jenkins, Little Karol Vananda, Cavin Berten, April Rowell, Brandon Malone and Marty Amerson.  13 great grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren and many others who called her "mom" and "grandma."
