Terry V. Foley

February 24, 1951 – November 14, 2025

Terry Vanweeldon Foley, age 74, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2025 in the comfort of his own home with his family beside him.

Terry was born on February 24, 1951, in Frederick, Oklahoma, son of Vanweeldon Foley and Helen Levell Foley.

He graduated from Cache High School in 1970. Terry worked in carpentry and trim work until joining the Chickasha Fire Department on September 23, 1979 where he proudly served the Chickasha area as a firefighter and paramedic. He was honored to serve alongside fellow rescue workers from across the country during the Alfred P. Murrah bombing on April 19, 1995.

Terry retired from the Chickasha Fire Department on February 28, 2005. He was also an EMS Instructor and was honored as Oklahoma Emergency Medical Technicians' Association EMS Instructor of the Year in 2007. Terry's happiness came from helping others; which is evident in his career and stories from those who worked with Terry and those he taught and mentored. He touched many lives over the course of his own and he provided numerous memories for us to cherish and carry on.

Terry found a love of riding and he purchased his first Harley in 2002. He traveled to many destinations. One of his favorite journeys was to Sturgis in 2004. He loved his dogs like no other and loved his family; whom he would support in whatever way was needed.

Terry met Lezlie Strand Foley November 19, 2007 and they were married on Christmas Eve 2008. A move to Arkansas led to plenty of adventures with building a new home in the mountains, bike trips, and Mardi Gras fun with Lezlie and their friends. Terry and Lezlie enjoyed traveling. His favorite trip was in 2017 to Pompei, Italy. They shared 18 loving years together on this Earth and will be reunited in Heaven for Eternity.

Those left to cherish Terry's memory are his wife, Lezlie; his son, Tom Foley and wife Tammy; his daughter, Tara Winsett; grandsons, Brad Foley and Ryne Winsett; Stepson, Ben (Hannah) Kohnke and son Arthur; Stepdaughter, Kristen (Justin) Talbert and children Kadence, Jaxton, Emerson, and Tucker; Annie – his faithful companion and best friend who will accompany him, Sadie and Tiny on all his rides when she joins them. Terry is also survived by his sister, Maxine Jones; niece Barbara (Keith) Livings; nephew Paul Jones, Jr.; great nephew Jordan Carl; great niece Shelby (Josh) Fields; sister-in-law Robin (Kevin) Green; brother-in-law Douglas Strand; numerous friends; his brothers in fire and blood; along with many whose lives Terry touched through his career as a firefighter/paramedic, EMS Instructor, and through all of his adventures.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Van Foley and Helen Levell Foley; and brother-in-law Paul Jones, Sr.

A special thank you to Lifeline Hospice/Home Health, and to Robin Green, Terry's sister-in-law, for the around-the-clock care and attention given to help keep Terry comfortable in his final days. Our gratitude cannot be expressed enough. Thank you to those who visited Terry; old classmates, old friends, and co-workers/brothers in fire and blood. Danny Hollander, Gene Taylor, Cody Eades, Martin Burnes….for your friendship and continued visits to Terry – we are forever grateful.
