Tami Elizabeth Ford passed away at her home in Chickasha, OK, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, December 30, 2023. Tami was born on October 11, 1959 to Marshall Humphrey and Barbara Humphrey Persinger.
Funeral Service for Tami will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Chickasha, OK at 10:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
Tami lived in the Chickasha area her entire life. She attended High School at Am-Po and graduated in 1977. She was married to the love of her life, Rick on May 12, 1979. Tami enjoyed working and had several jobs through the years where she would always greet everyone with a smile and her kind words. She operated Donnell's with her Mother-in-Law Emma Laura Ford. Tami worked at Jake's Rib for eight years. She worked with her husband Rick at Ford Energy for seventeen years. Tami loved her grandkids and she would never miss a sporting event. She and Rick were the biggest fans of Piedmont Wrestling. Tami loved her family and friends and treasured her time she spent with them. She loved anything Elvis. In her early years she would go bowling with Marianne. Tami was active in Junior Social Workers and enjoyed her Bunco Club. She loved calling family and friends on their birthdays each year and would sing 'Happy Birthday' to them. If they weren't home, she would leave the song on their answering machine for them to enjoy later in the day.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Rick Ford; her parents, Marshall Humphrey and Barbara Humphrey Persinger; her brother, Gary Humphrey; her Uncle Basil Nance.
Tami is survived by her children and grandchildren: Matthew Ford and his son Kaiden of Chickasha, OK; Erik Ford and his wife Amanda and their children, Draper and Finch of Piedmont, OK; Andrew Ford and his wife Katheryn and their children Ian, Karigan, and Nolan of Chickasha, OK; her brother, Greg Humphrey of Lawton, OK; her Step Dad, Donnie Persinger of Cyril, OK; her nieces and nephews and their families, Blair, Amity, Brandon, Stephanie, Dilan, Haylee, Jennifer, Kelsey, Caroline, Alexander, William and Harrison; her dear friend who she considered family, Pam Boyd; and many aunts, uncles, great-nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.
