Shirley Ann Lea was born January 11, 1927 in Scranton, Pennsylvania. She passed away at her home on August 14, 2019 at the age of 92. Shirley was the daughter of William Bradford Edwards and Wilhemina Edwards.
Shirley met her husband Roy in Newport, Rhode Island while he was stationed there in the Navy. They married April 5, 1946 and they were married until he passed away December 2008. They had two daughters.
After the two girls started school, Shirley went back to School getting her teaching degree from O.C.W. Her teaching career took her to schools at West Valley View, Friend, St. Joseph, Dibble, Ninnekah, and Anadarko. She loved all her kids and years later she might see one somewhere and she would know their name and remember them from when they were her student. If she ever met you she would always remember you. She always wanted to get to know people and have a good conversation. She especially loved it when friends would drop by and have a visit or give her a phone call.
Special to her heart was her church family. One of her most favorite things was to sit on her porch with her little dog, Bernie, watching her birds, looking at her flowers and thanking God for loving her and praising Him for all He had done for her. Shirley was saved as a teenager but as she grew older the sweeter her relationship with Jesus grew. We will miss her, but we will meet again soon.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; sister, Ramona Tims and her father and mother.
She is survived by her daughters: Lorraine Baugh and Martha King and her husband, Mac; grandsons, Billy and Bryan Whinery. One niece Elaine Tiger, two nephews, Rick Tims and David Edwards, and several great grandchildren.
