Graveside service for Shirley Kay Estes Campopiano was held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. Shirley was born on October 20, 1947 in Chickasha, OK to William and Estelle Estes. Shirley passed away on May 23, 2024 in Chickasha, OK, at the age of 76.
Shirley was born October 20, 1947, near Norge, Oklahoma to William McCurry and Lavada Estelle Estes, the eighth (8) child of ten. She attended school in Chickasha, OK. She then left Oklahoma at the age of sixteen (16) and moved to California where her older siblings lived. There she met her husband, Pat, and they were married in 1966.
Together they had two (2) children, LaShai and P.J. Being a mother was what she loved doing the most in her life. She always adored and cherished her children and was an amazing mother to them.
The family moved back and forth a few times between California and her hometown of Chickasha over the years, even buying a new home in 1976. Pat and Shirley made their final move back to Chickasha in 2007. LaShai had married and stayed in California to raise Shirley's two (2) grandchildren whom she enjoyed almost as much as her own. P.J. later moved back to Chickasha in 2011 to help his parents in their later years. They actually repurchased the same home they had previously bought, and Shirley resided there until recently.
Throughout the years, Shirley worked at several different occupations including waitress/hostess and even owned her own housecleaning business for a short while.
She was a huge Elvis Presley fan, as well as her husband, and they played his music often in their home.
Shirley left this life on May 23, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Patrick James Campopiano, Jr.; her sisters, Carol Corene and Joy Lawanda; and her brother, James Edward.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, LaShai Denise Campopiano Murray, her grandchildren, Kaylyn and Bobby Murray, of Clovis, California; her son Patrick James Campopiano, III (P.J.) of Chickasha, OK; sisters, Mae Jean (Tom) Belluomo, Faye Dean (Otis) Loring, both of California; Allie Juanita (Ira Vel) Smith, of Enid, OK; Delores Estelene (Larry) Sikes; Lisa Renee (Lynn) Shipley, all of Chickasha, OK; and her brother, Delbert William (Virginia) Estes, of Enid, Oklahoma; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
