Funeral service for Shirley Jean Hunter Day will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025 at 2:00p.m. at the Sevier Funeral Home Chapel in Chickasha, OK. Interment will be at Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Shirley Hunter Day passed from this life on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 in Norman, OK at the age of 85. She was born on April 15, 1939 in Chickasha, OK to J.C. Hunter and Virginia Odom Hunter.

Shirley graduated from Chickasha High School and attended College at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK and Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, OK. She married Kenneth Ray in 1957. She later married Jerry Day in 1964. Shirley enjoyed doing word searches and reading magazines. She raised Labrador retrievers. She loved her dogs.

She is preceded in death by her son, Brett Thomas Day, her daughter, Tracey  Ray; grandson, Jeremy Boggess, and grandson, Cooper Lee Day; her parents, J.C. Hunter and Virginia Odom Hunter; her grandparents, Bill and Lorene Odom.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Jerry Day; her son, Scott Wayne Ray; her son, Devon Lee Day; her sister, Charlotte Reedy; half-brother, John Craig Hunter; grandchildren, Alyssa Marie Day, Keaton Lee Day, Kynlee Deanne Day; great-grandson, Kooper Lee Day; as well as many nieces and nephews.
