Saundra Sue Pettigrew

We are saddened to share the passing of long-time Chickasha resident, Saundra Sue Pettigrew. Saundra was born on April 11, 1941, in Chickasha to Gladace and Lela Viola Goyne, and passed away on September 30, 2026.

She attended Alex Schools, graduating in 1959. In the sixth grade, she met the love of her life, Lindel Pettigrew. They married in Alex in 1961 and recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. After marrying, Saundra and Lindel moved to Oklahoma City, where both worked for Fidelity National Bank. In 1968, they welcomed their son, Jeffrey Lynn Pettigrew. The family relocated to Chickasha in 1973 when Lindel was named president of the city's newest bank. Saundra worked at the bank until her retirement in 2015 and shared a passion for interior design. Saundra was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Chickasha, where she enjoyed teaching four-year-old Sunday school, and was also a member of the Junior Social Workers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gladace and Lela Viola Goyne, and her sister and best friend, Betty Denton.

Saundra is survived by her husband, Lindel Pettigrew of Chickasha; her son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Sherri Pettigrew of Norman; four grandchildren, Preston and Sarah Pettigrew of Denver, CO, Peyton and Denver Swearingen of Newcastle, OK, Paige and Gabriel Greenway of Norman, and Price Pettigrew of Norman; and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside Service for Saundra Pettigrew will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at 2:00 pm at the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
