Ruth Mary Vallee Baker

Ruth Mary Valle Baker was born on October 23, 1941 in St. Albans, Vermont to Charles Emile and Rhoda Mack Vallee. She passed peacefully from this life on December 20, 2024 in Oklahoma City, OK.

She graduated from high school in Newington, Connecticut in 1959 and continued her education at the Grace New Haven School of Nursing at the Yale-New Haven Medical Center in New Haven, Connecticut. She graduated in 1962 and her professional career began in New Haven. She continued at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal, Canada where she joined the cardiac research team.

In 1963, she relocated to Plattsburgh, New York, and joined the operating room staff at the Physicians Hospital where she worked for five rewarding years.

In 1968, she married Francis Folsom Baker, M.D., an orthopedic surgeon from Buffalo, New York. They began a wonderful life together that lasted 40 years.

Her education continued at the State University of New York at Plattsburgh where she graduated in 1972 with a BA in Art and began her lifelong love of photography.

In 1990, Ruth Mary and Francis relocated to Florida where she earned a Master's as well as an Education Specialist degree in Marriage & Family Therapy. She was then admitted to doctoral candidacy.

Dr. Francis Baker passed away in 2008 and Mrs. Baker relocated to Chickasha, Oklahoma at the invitation of her brother to "join the family." It was a wonderful and wise decision.

Mrs. Baker is survived by her brother, Michael Mack Vallee of Chickasha, OK; her nephew, Charles Vallee and wife Kristi, of Norman, OK; niece, Michele Castleberry and husband Gary of Chickasha, OK; niece, Marsha Sikes and husband Robert of Chickasha, OK; niece Melissa Vallee and fiancé Ted Gauthier of Chickasha, OK; and several great nieces and nephews.

Services will be a private family gathering. Burial will be in the Baker family plot in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Buffalo, New York.
