Ruth Long

Ruth Long, 80 years, of Altus, OK, passed away on July 10th, 2025. She was born on January 11th, 1945. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Parsons and Maudona Parsons.

Ruth Long was the heart and soul of her three daughters.

A devoted mother of three daughters, Robin Evans, Roxzanne Shipley (Brian Shipley), and Rena Turpen (Skeeter Don Higgins).

Memaw of seven: Cristian Haynes (Patrick Haynes), Weston Evans (Kristy Evans), Rustin Avila (Haylee Avila-Roalian)

Nick Bianchi (Jina Kim-Bianchi), Ashlie Duncan (Robert Duncan), Josh Turpen, and Nik Turpen. With these special grandchildren, she became a great-grandmother of twelve: Kynslie Evans, Cannan Haynes, Jerrett Haynes, Sariah Duncan, Dallas Duncan, Caden Ward, Joshalyn Turpen, Jattyn Turpen, Bentley Turpen, Arabella Phillips, Hunter Woods, and a special one arriving in October.

Beyond her roles as a mother, memaw, and great-grandmother, she pursued a Nursing degree at age 42 and proudly served 25 years as a Registered Nurse.

One of her greatest loves was that of her grandparents, the late William and Madie Glazier of DeLeon, Texas.

We will all remember fondly of her special birthday cards she sent out over the years.

May she rest in peace and in our hearts always.

A private family celebration of her life will be at a later date.
