Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 22, 2023, at First Baptist Church Mustang. Committal service will be at Friendship Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Richard Wayne Souder Jr passed from this life on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at the age of 58, surrounded by his family. He was born February 8, 1965, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Richard Wayne Souders Sr. and Sharon E. (Townsend) Souders.

Richard Wayne Souders Jr. grew up in Pocasset, OK; helped his grandfather and dad farm;  he was involved in FFA in High School and received his State Farmer certificate; in FFA he land judged and showed cattle; graduated from Amber-Pocasset schools in 1983; he loved airplanes and worked at Delta Air Lines for 21 years; he then worked for the city of OKC for 9 years; Richard married Melissa (Young) Souders on August 18, 1987, they were married for 36 wonderful years; they moved around the country while he worked for Delta but settled in Oklahoma, he was a heavy duty truck driver for the city of OKC where he retired from, Richard and Melissa were blessed with two daughters, Kaitlyn and Kimberly.

Richard loved doing several things including hunting and Cowboy Action Shooting, as well as going camping with his wife and family. He was a follower of Jesus and attended church his entire life. Richard always set a Christlike example for his family and helped them with any problems or questions they had. He was always generous with his time and his family and friends were very important to him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Sharon Souders; grandparents, Russell and Frances Townsend; and grandparents, Roy and Fanny Souders; and a niece, Jordan Souders.

Richard is survived by his wife, Melissa Souders of Pocasset, OK; daughters, Kaitlyn M. (Souders) Cagle and husband, William of Bethany, OK, and Kimberly Souders of Pocasset; brother, Jeff Souders and wife, Lana of Pocasset, OK; sister, Michele (Souders) Haynes and husband, Chris of Pocasset, OK as well as his loving nieces and nephews, and great niece.
