Ray Virgil Kettler passed away at his home in Tuttle, OK on March 15, 2024 at the age of 76. He was born on May 21, 1947 to Cecil and Nellie Kettler.
Graveside Service for Ray Kettler will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Tuttle, OK under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. A come and go visitation will be held for Ray on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 from 8a.m.-7p.m. at Sevier Funeral Home in Tuttle, OK.
Ray grew up in Tuttle and attended Tuttle Public Schools. He was a member of the Methodist Church. When he was a senior in high school, he was drafted into the army during the Vietnam War. After Vietnam, he met and married Christy Francis and together they had one son, Michael Kettler. His pride and joy was his grandson, Leon, and he would talk about him any chance he got. Ray loved spending time with him. Ray was very talented in wood work and carpentry. He attended a vocational school for training in carpentry. He worked for home building companies, making the cabinetry for the new homes. Ray spent several years working for Hobby Lobby in their woodworking department. Once he retired from Hobby Lobby, he continued to work as a handyman and carpenter on many projects. Ray loved fishing and camping. He loved Monster Trucks and watching Nascar races on Sunday afternoons.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Nellie Kettler; sisters, Dolly Kettler (infant), and Marylin Kettler Sumrall.
Ray is survived by his son, Michael Kettler and wife Jennifer of Tuttle, OK; his grandson, Leon Kettler of Tuttle, OK; his brother, H.C. Kettler and wife Joyce of Tuttle, OK; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
