Ray Ferguson

Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at the Sevier Funeral Home Chapel in Chickasha, OK. Interment will be at Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Ray Ferguson, passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2021 in Chickasha, OK at the age of 86. He was born October 5, 1935 in Rush Springs, Oklahoma to Charley and Lula Ferguson.

Ray was born and raised in Rush Springs, OK where he attended school and played basketball. Ray met his wife Eva Mae (Hensley) Ferguson in Cement, Oklahoma, they were married on May 5, 1956. They lovingly raised their three children together. Throughout his life he held a variety of jobs including:  farming, long haul truck driver, a machinist, the oil field, and he sold watermelons in Rush Springs. But his favorite job was being  Papa Ray to his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charley and Lula (Read) Ferguson; wife, Eva Mae (Hensley) Ferguson; sisters: Mozelle Rury, Dovie Stiles and Jewell Bruner; brothers: R.D. Brinkley, Joe Ferguson, Dicky Ferguson, and Curly Ferguson; and a grandchild, Mark Long.

Ray is survived by his daughters, Darlene Long, and Sheila Guerrero and husband Bobby; son, Alan Ferguson; grandchildren: Carrie Gwinn and husband Bobby, Shane Guerrero and wife Tiffany, Brian Long and wife Stephanie, Shannon Long and wife Rebecca; Lacey Smith and husband Mark; brother: Fred Ferguson: as well as numerous great- grandchildren.
