Rachel Louisa Corley was born July 19, 1921 in Alex, Oklahoma to Joseph and May (Baker) Graham. She passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2017 in Tuttle, Oklahoma at the age of 95.
Rachel was raised in the Amber area. Rachel and her high school sweetheart, Andrew "Andy" Corley, graduated together from Amber High School. As soon as the graduation ceremony was complete, she and Andy left the school and went straight to the Amber First Baptist Church and were married on May 14, 1939. Their wedding was the first wedding in the church that her father had helped to build. They moved between Arizona and Oklahoma until they made their home in Tuttle.
Rachel had worked at the FAA in Oklahoma City as a cook for several years and then later as a cook at University Hospital, where Andy had also worked. She had taken up painting in her 80's which she thoroughly enjoyed.
She was a member of Tuttle First Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Andy Corley on November 21, 1978; son, Clarence Corley; daughter-in-law, Reba Corley; 3 brothers: Ernest Graham, Henry Graham, Edward Graham; 2 sisters: Lucilla Baker and Viola Shay; and 2 infant brothers.
Rachel is survived by
Her daughter, Zella Henson and her husband, Bob, of Euless, TX;
2 sons: John Corley and his wife, Diana, of Auburn, CA;
Steve Corley and his wife, Mary, of Pennsylvania
9 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Granddaughter
2 brothers: Vernie Graham of Chickasha, OK;
Carroll Graham and his wife, Lawana, of Oklahoma City, OK;
And many nieces and nephews.
