Peggy Jo Conner

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 3, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Snow Hill Baptist Church in Tuttle, Oklahoma. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Beloved mother and grandmother Peggy Jo Conner left this world on May 30, 2022, in Blanchard, Oklahoma, after a difficult recovery from a car accident.

Peggy Jo Conner was born on February 24, 1943, in Waldon, Oklahoma (Grady County). She was the youngest of Earl and Daisy Conner's six children. She spent her childhood years in Tuttle, Oklahoma, and graduated from Tuttle High School in 1961. She married Tommy Choate in 1961, and they welcomed two children, Kyle in 1962 and Cheryl in 1965. Sadly, Peggy was widowed at the age of 23. With two young children to care for, she worked hard to provide for her family. In 1966 she married Thomas Lampkin, and they welcomed one daughter, Lynn, in 1967. The Lampkins owned and operated the Blanchard Foods grocery store in the 1970s before Peggy started her career at Orchid Drapery as a seamstress. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed making clothes and quilts throughout her life. In her retirement years, she moved to Lake Eufaula and became a district manager for The Daily Oklahoman. After a stroke in 2009, Peggy moved to the Fort Worth, Texas, area to be closer to family. Peggy found true joy by volunteering at the Wise Regional Hospital in Bridgeport, Texas. She always had a desire to move "home," and in 2016 she did just that. She lived in Tuttle and worked at the Sevier Funeral Home until her car accident on May 29, 2021.

Peggy's presence was always known when she entered a room. That presence will truly be missed by all her friends and family here on earth, but comfort can be found in knowing that presence is now felt in heaven with her many family members and friends who have gone on before her.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Daisy (Crockett) Conner, two brothers Earl Jr. and Bobby Conner, two sisters Earlean McDonald and Wanda Ball, and her first husband, Tommy Choate.

Peggy is survived by her three children: Kyle Lampkin and his wife Peggy of Poolville, TX, daughter Cheryl Pickard and her husband David of Blanchard, OK, daughter, Lynn Joslin and her husband Jeff of Lebanon, MO. One brother: Bill Conner and his wife, Beverly. Seven grandchildren: Jeff Lampkin and his wife, Ruth, Nicole Townsend and her husband, Brett, Jennifer Pickett and her husband, Eric, Joshua Pickard and his wife, Susann, Jessica McKeown and her husband, Justin, T.J. Joslin, and Cindy McKee and her husband, Dustin. Eighteen great-grandchildren: Junior, Angel, Jazmin, Jessika and Jordan Lampkin, Cassidy, Madeline, and Paizley Townsend, David and Dawson Pickett, Noelani, Lilyanna, and Ember Pickard, Conner, Truett, and Porter McKeown, and Emma and Allie McKee.
