Pauline Birtie Britt Davis was born February 25, 1928 in Headrick, Oklahoma to Ollie James and Jessie Paralee (Browning) Britt. She passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2016 in Port Wentworth, Georgia at the age of 88.
Pauline grew up in Headrick, Oklahoma with her parents and three brothers. She met the love of her life, James Roland Davis, and they were married on November 23, 1943 in Lawton, Oklahoma. Her husband was in the military (US Army) for nearly 25 years and they lived in Germany, Oklahoma, Alabama, Arkansas, and Louisiana. Roland and Pauline retired from civil service at Ft Polk in Leesville, Louisiana, where he passed away in 1993.
Pauline was a faithful member of the Church of Christ. She enjoyed various hobbies including crafts and puzzles. Pauline was a kind, generous and caring person who loved spending time with family and friends. She would say her greatest achievement in life is raising three loving children. She loved her children and grandchildren with her whole heart.
Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, James Roland Davis, of Samson, Alabama; parents Ollie James Britt and Jessie Paralee Browning Britt of Chickasha, Oklahoma; her three brothers Herman W. Britt of Chickasha, Oklahoma, Paul H. Britt of Marianna, Florida, and Bedford B. Britt of Tipton, Oklahoma.
She is survived by three children: John Lee Davis and wife Cathey of San Antonio, Texas; Jerry Wayne Davis and wife Diane of Little Rock, Arkansas; and Cynthia Ann Davis (Smith) and husband Emery L. Smith, Jr. of Guyton, Georgia. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Ryan Davis and wife Erin of Dallas, Texas; Lindsey Davis Triggs and husband Travis of Cedar Park, Texas; Sean McDougle of Dallas, Texas, and Evan McDougle of Denver, Colorado. Also, four great-grandchildren: Hannah, Max and Roman Davis and Taia Triggs, and a number of nieces and nephews.
