Paula Lucas

Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 16, 2021 at the Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church, Chickasha, OK.

Paula Jo Lucas, born in Pilot, Point, TX, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at her home in Chickasha, OK at the age of 87.  She was born April 23, 1933 and was adopted by her loving parents, Paul and Linnie (Jones) Dahlman.

Paula loved music and was a very talented concert pianist and tap dancer. She shared her music at family gatherings and the church congregation for many chapters of her life. Paula was known to be a very independent and intellectual individual; in fact, she had skipped two grades to graduate high school and started college at the age of 16.  Paula worked and retired from the State Department of Probation and Parole Services as a Parole Officer. One of her many great traits, was her positive influences on others to overcome setbacks with a second chance to live a compliant and stable life. Paula had the uncanny ability to see and accept people for who they were.

Paula was the first recipient awarded a Certificate of Productivity Enhancement by the State of Oklahoma. Her innovative and out-of-the box thinking set her apart from others.  She instilled these qualities and perseverance in her grandchildren.  She helped them explore their full potential and limitless possibilities. Paula will be remembered for her distinct uniqueness, for she had an appealing quality different from others. Paula didn't conform to the world, the world conformed to Paula!

She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Linnie Dahlman; her husband Jack Lucas; a son Paul E. Pearson and a grandson, Taylor Pearson.

Paula is survived by her two sons, Ronnie Pearson and his wife, Debbie, of Forney, TX;

and Michael Pearson and his wife, Joan, of Cypress, TX; nine grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren; a brother, David Dahlman and his wife, Linda, of Magnolia, TX; and a daughter-in-law, Dianne Pearson of Baton Rouge, LA.
