Patsy "Pat" Anderson

A funeral service for Patsy Anderson, 90, of Frisco, TX will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 20, 2026, at First Baptist Church, Chickasha. Rev. Michael Butler will officiate.

Patsy Ruth Anderson (née Blackerby) was born April 1, 1936, in Altus to Spurgeon Blackerby and Margaret Ruth Blackerby (née Brown). She passed from this life on Saturday, June 7, 2026, at her home in Frisco, TX. She was a longtime Chickasha resident until moving in 2023 to Texas to be near her children.

She grew up in Martha, OK and graduated from Martha High School in 1954. She then attended Oklahoma A&M, where she graduated in 1957 with a degree in Business Education.

She married Dellas Anderson on August 18, 1957. Together they raised two children and shared 66 years of marriage until his passing in 2023.

Pat had a passion for her family, her community, and her service to God.

She brought enthusiasm to all in which she participated, including singing alto in the church choir and teaching Sunday School at Trinity Baptist Church. She served as a Selective Service volunteer and, together with Dellas, was active in the Chickasha High School Band Parents program. From 1977 until 1999, she served as school secretary at Chickasha Intermediate School, from which she retired. Her contributions to family and community are varied, numerous, and unsung.

She was known for her cheerful disposition and willingness to meet people where they were in life, looking unfailingly for the good in others. Her faith in Christ was her primary guidance, serving as disciple, daughter, sister, wife, mother, friend, neighbor, and citizen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dellas, and brother Don Avery Blackerby, in 2009.

She leaves in grief two children, Gregory Anderson and Cindy Anderson, both of Frisco, TX, as well as two grandsons, Parker Avers and Ethan Avers, of the DFW area.

Interment will be in the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
