Otis Gene "Butch" Vann passed from this life on Monday, October 13, 2025 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 76. He was born on January 17, 1949 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Joseph Vann and Margaret (Arrington) Pursley.

Funeral service for Otis Gene "Butch" Vann will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the Full Gospel Church in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Interment will be at the Dibble Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Butch grew up in Chickasha but always loved to travel. He loved to drive his motorcycle everywhere he could. He traveled all over the United States by hitchhiking and riding his motorcycles. Butch enjoyed working on his motorcycle.

He had two children, Melissa Word and Blue Joseph Vann.

Butch is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Vann and Margaret Lucille (Arrington) Pursley; his son, Blue Joseph Vann; his sister, Sharon Faye (Vann) Raper; his brothers, Timmy Pursley, Roy Pursley, Robert "Bobby" Thompson; his granddaughter, SkyDawn Word.

Loved ones left to remember him are his daughter and her husband, Melissa Word and Rocky Word, Sr.; his sister and her husband, Theresa (Pursley) Gardener and Clarence "Chic" Gardener; his brother and wife, Barry Thompson and Lily Thompson; his brother, Mike Vann and his wife; his grandchildren, Rocky Word, Jr., Morgan Word, Zachary Word; his great-grandchildren, Keaton Word, Jakobie Word, and Lillyona Word; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
