Oleta Joyce Brown

Oleta Joyce Brown left this world on August 9, 2023, in Tuttle, OK at the age of 93. She was born February 21, 1930, in Seminole, OK to Boone and America Zumwalt welcoming her into their family of 8 children, making her the 9th.

Oleta grew up in the oil camp in Oklahoma until 1948. In June of 1948, she went out to San Bernardino, California to visit her sister and met Milan Charles Brown. Oleta found the one and went back to California and married Milan, on September 2, 1948. He was a police officer and she was a housewife. They had 3 children, Mike, Tim, and Patrick, who they raised in San Bernardino, California. After Milan passed away in 1979, Oleta moved back to Oklahoma to live closer to her sons. She first moved to Choctaw and then Midwest City where she lived for 30 years. In 2017 she moved to Tuttle, OK where she lived until her passing.

Oleta loved holidays, she hosted so many Thanksgivings, Christmas's, Easter's and birthdays, and other holidays. Being around her family was one of her greatest joys. She loved cooking, baking, and making clothes. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Milan Charles Brown; 1 son, Patrick Dean Brown; 2 grandchildren, Gene and Joyce Brown; and so many other members of her family.

Oleta is survived by her sons, Michael Brown of Midwest City, Oklahoma; Timothy Brown and wife, Kim of Tuttle, Oklahoma, and daughter-in-law, Patricia Brown of Missouri;                             6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
