Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 1, 2022, Ninnekah Cemetery, Ninnekah, Oklahoma under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Nathan Boyd Pipes, age 80 of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 24, 2022. Nathan was born on November 29, 1941, in Clarkesville, Red River County, Texas to Woodrow and Mae Pipes.

Where he was raised and went to school. After completing high school, he moved to Friona, Texas, where he worked at the Ford shop. He married Carolyn Baxter and together had four children. Through the years he worked for the Ford shop. In 1970 he moved his family to Silver City, New Mexico and worked for Phelps Dodge copper mine as a mechanic for several years. The family returned to the family farm at Friona, Texas where they farmed until 1980 and then they moved to Oklahoma to work in the oil field. In 1990 he began hauling mail for the US post Service where he met his wife of the past twenty-eight years, Ladawn, and was married February 19, 1994, in Duncan, Oklahoma. After retirement, they moved to Lake Roberts, New Mexico.
Nathan enjoyed the outdoors and felt at peace in the mountains where he loved to fish and cut wood. Nathan enjoyed helping others in the surrounding area especially the ones who could not get out and cut wood. He loved his family and getting together and teaching their grandchildren about the outdoors. In 1993 he was baptized into Christ at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Nathan served as a branch president for about eight years in Mimbres, New Mexico
Between Nathan and Ladawn, they had 8 children, 21 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother Mae Pipes, father Woodrow Pipes, one sister Leathita Raspberry, two daughters Debra Charlene Swaim and Julie Kathleen Simon, one son-in-law Allan Dean Piercy, one grandchild Zackary Dale Pipes, and one great grandchild Paizlie Kay Rayne Forson.

Nathan is survived by his wife Ladawn, children and (spouses), Nathan Boyd Pipes, Jr. (Joyce), twins Linda Lou Hancik (Carl), Rebecca Sue Piercy, Billy J. Bennett (Cherrie), Kevin L. Bennett (Suzy) and Forrest Jay Bennett, twenty Grandchildren and fourteen Great-Grandchildren, and sister Brenda Balzano.
