Nadine Lavonne Lister Paul

Born in her grandparents' home, Nadine grew up in Chickasha and Amber, the daughter of E.C. Lister and Carrie Grubbs Lister.  Nadine had many happy memories of growing up in Chickasha.  Probably the happiest and most long lasting was meeting her husband of 62 years at Chickasha High School, Robert (Bob) Paul.  Bob and Nadine eloped on January 8, 1945 while he was home on leave with USMC.  They moved to Quantico, Virginia while Bob was serving with the Marines.

Nadine and Bob moved to Miami, Oklahoma where he had received a scholarship to play football at NEO A&M College.  They remained in Miami for the next 50 years, where they raised their children and became active members of the community.  Nadine was involved with PTA, Mothers Club, she was a Girl Scouts leader and Boys Scout leader.  She was a wonderful support to Bob and the children with all of their many activities.

Nadine was the Post Mistress of NEO A&M College prior to becoming the Secretary of the Technology Department, retiring after 27 years with NEO.  Bob and Nadine had wonderful memories in Miami and were very thankful for the opportunity to raise their family there.

Twenty years ago they moved back to Chickasha to assist in caring for their elderly parents.  Nadine loved playing golf, sewing, cooking, family, teaching country and western dancing with her group in Miami, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was a member of the College Heights Baptist Church of Chickasha.

Nadine is preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bob) Paul, Sr.; her son, Robert Paul, Jr.; her son, Philip Paul; her parents, E.C. (Elmer) and Carrie Lister; sister, Pauline Lister Phillips Wood; nephew, Steve Phillips; and her precious Poochie Paul.

Nadine is survived by her daughter, Pattie Paul Abercrombie, Chickasha; brother, Don Lister and his wife, Cora, of Stillwater; daughter-in-law, Debra Paul, Tulsa; sister-in-law, Jimmie Lu Paul, Duncan;

Grandchildren:  Chris Paul (Marisa), Justin Paul (Glenna), Robin Paul.  Great-grandchildren:  Layne Paul, Layla Paul, Caleb Paul, Brooke Paul Maynard, Hunter Paul, Jade Paul, Autumn Paul.

Nieces and: Paula Kay Phillips Womack, Ginger Lister Billman, Zach Lister, Doug Lister.  Her precious animal kids: Zoie and Tobey.
