Nadean Rose Troup was born July 17, 1933 in McAlester, OK to Burch and Addie (Whitehouse) Collier. Nadean passed from this life on April 9, 2024, in Chickasha, OK at the age of 90.
Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 12, 2024, at the Sevier Funeral Home Chapel in Chickasha, OK. Committal Service will be held at Ninnekah Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
Nadean grew up in Verden, OK as the second oldest of nine children. She met and married Henry Troup Jr. on February 9, 1952, to this union they had 3 children, Carol Sue (Troup) Getman, Minnie Darlene Troup, and James Duane Troup. Nadean and Henry raised their children in Ninnekah where she was a caregiver and homemaker for most of her life. After her children grew up and moved out of the house, Nadean worked as a restaurant manager for several decades until she retired in 1996. Nadean and Henry also raised their oldest granddaughter, Paula (Gregory) Hopkins.
Nadean was an avid birdwatcher and gardener, she would always have an acre garden every year, her children would help her when harvest came and then she canned the fruits and vegetables she grew. Nadean enjoyed living off the land. She enjoyed Bluegrass music and traveling to the McAlester Bluegrass Festival to watch her family perform. Nadean loved her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Troup Jr., parents, Burch and Addie Collier, two infant children; brothers, Roy Collier and Casey Collier; sisters, Nina Snodgrass, Media Cononge, Dorothy Deshago, and Emma West; grandson, Daren Troup; son-in-law, Randy Getman.
Nadean is survived by her children, Carol Sue (Troup) Getman, Darlene Troup, and James Troup; grandchildren, Paula and Sterling Hopkins, Markus and Crystal Wood, Cole Troup, Levi Garretson, Chelsea Troup, and Jaxon Troup; great-grandchildren, Sara Miller, Joanne Foster-Wood, Garret and Joslyn Hopkins, Mailey, Deryn, and Lincoln Wood, Colton, Tucker, Braxton, Makenzie, and Oaklyn Troup, Alexis Adams, Maddison, and Dorion Skinner; great-great-granddaughter, Iyla Mae Miller; brothers, Dwight Collier, and E.B. Collier, as well as numerous other nieces, nephews and family members.
