Funeral service for Millie Emma Still will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at the chapel of Sevier Funeral Home in Chickasha, OK. Interment will be held at Ninnekah Cemetery in Ninnekah, OK, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Come-and-go Viewing will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, May 23, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Millie Emma Still passed from this life on May 17, 2026 at her home in Yukon, OK at the age of 91. She was born on January 28, 1935 in Ardmore, OK to her parents, Floyd Houston Brooks and Phyllis Ellen (Wright) Brooks.

Millie was the oldest of three children, and she grew up in Modesto, CA for most of her childhood. She returned to Oklahoma in her high school years and graduated from Healdton High School.

Millie married Jimmy D. Still and they were longtime residents of Ninnekah, OK. Together they had three children, Cassandra, James, and Cora. While she raised her children, she attended OCLA (Oklahoma College of Liberal Arts) in Chickasha, OK. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education in 1974. She went on to teach at Cement Public School until her retirement. After her retirement, she devoted her time to her favorite hobbies: first-and-foremost, her grandchildren; also, crocheting, jigsaw puzzles, woodworking, reading, as well as, fishing.

She was a wonderful mentor to anyone who held an interest in learning.

Millie is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Phyllis Brooks; the love of her life, Jimmy D. Still; her brother, Floyd Lane Brooks and his wife, Juanita; her sister, Mona Bernice Brooks; her son-in-law, Terry Mitchell; and her brother-in-law, Harley Bromley.

She is survived by her three children: Cassandra and her husband Phillip Ryan; James and his wife, Jo Still; Cora and her husband, Jesse Fike; her grandchildren, Jimmy Mitchell, Kristina Mitchell, Robert Mitchell, Lang Sims, Tyler Sims, Jamie Weber, and David Still; her 6 step grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; her sister, Beulah Ellen Bromley; as well as, numerous nieces, nephews and family.
