Mildred Jean Blacksher

November 16, 1942 — January 18, 2024

Chickasha

Mildred Jean Blacksher was born on November 16, 1942, in Cement, Oklahoma at home to Chester and Beaulah Blacksher. She went home to be with the Lord on January 18, 2024, at the age of 81, with her niece, Brenda Saunier by her side.

Funeral Service for Mildred will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church. Her body will be laid to rest at Rosehill Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Mildred lived in Chickasha Oklahoma the majority of her life. She worked in the local nursing home, at USAO, and at Grady Memorial Hospital as a housekeeper. She loved God, her family, her church family, and her many cats. Although she never married and never had children of her own, she was an amazing friend, sister, "mom" to all the people she loved, especially her nieces and nephews that she helped raise. She was the sweetest, kindest person that you would ever meet and was always helping her neighbors, family, friends, and even strangers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Beaulah Blacksher; her stepmother, Lorene Cox-Blacksher; two sisters, Molly Sanders, and Wilma Goff; and three brothers, Ervin, Amos, and Floyd Blacksher (who died as a newborn).

She is survived by her sister, Naomi Garret of Hinton, Oklahoma, and many nephews and nieces.
