Mike Douglas Bevill, Sr.

Michael Douglas Bevill, Sr. passed from this life Sunday May 22, 2016 at his home in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Mike was born July 24, 1939 in Alex, Oklahoma to J C and Lois Kathleen O'Donnel Bevill.

Mike's family moved from the farm in Alex to Oklahoma City where he started school. When his family moved to Kansas, Mike moved to Chickasha where he finished high school with the class of 1957.

After attending Cameron Junior College in Lawton, Mike continued his schooling at Central State University in Edmond majoring in journalism and literature. Mike married Paula Howard on August 5, 1960. Mike and Paula returned to Chickasha in 1964, when Mike went into farming with his grandparents, Alvin and Jane Lowe, on the family farm southwest of Chickasha.

Mike loved all outdoor activities. When he retired from farming he exchanged the farm fields for the golf course. He took great pride in his large yard and all the trees and shrubs he planted. He had a definite green thumb.

He was an active volunteer in many civic organizations, but the time he enjoyed most was always with his family. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. He was always a gentleman and always a gentle man.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, J C and Lois Kathleen Bevill, brothers, Charles, John, and James Christopher Bevill, two brothers-in-law, Jex Capener and Bob Tucci.

He is survived by his wife, Paula Bevill of the home;
His daughter, Mia Kolar and her husband, Bob Kolar of Ocala, FL;
and his son, Michael Bevill, II and his wife, April Bevill;
sister-in-law, Barbara Jay Bevill;

Grandchildren: Gloria Bowles and her husband, Zack Bowles of Chickasha, OK;
Jacob Bevill and his significant other, Tiffany Diaz of Anadarko, OK; Brayden Bevill and Chance Bevill of Chickasha, OK;

Great grandchildren: Sadie Bowles of Chickasha, OK; and Montana, Kirsten, Santana, Keeley, and Josiah Diaz of Anadarko, OK;

Sisters: Kay Tucci of Tulsa, OK; Jay Barbara Capener of St. Charles, MO;
Diana and Kevin Mysinger of Wellston, OK; and Jeanne and Art Pope of Newcastle, OK;
