Maxine Streber

Lucy "Maxine" (Martin) Streber passed from this world on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 5:13 p.m. at Tuttle, Oklahoma.

Maxine and her indentical twin, Pauline, entered this world in Chelsea, OK on January 15, 1924 as underdogs and survivors.  They only weighed about 3 lbs. each.  Unable to tolerate nourishment from their mother, Emma Lee Martin, their father, Clyde, fed them liquid from oatmeal.  Clyde devised a homemade incubator from which they thrived.

She met Leonard Streber on her 19th birthday and stole his heart.  They were married January 23 that same year and took residency in Tuttle and lived there the rest of their lives.  She and Leonard were married 57 years.

Maxine's passions were her family, cooking, quilting and gardening.

Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; parents, Clyde and Emma Martin; brothers: Millard, Charles and RC Martin; sisters: Gladys Henson, Lena Mae McCarty, Pauline McDonald and Virginia Hamilton; son Robert (Bob), grandson Shannon Streber and great granddaughter Regan Mills.
