Maxine Jeffries was born September 28, 1928 in Tuttle, Oklahoma to Ray John and Eula (Copp) Bowers. She passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 87.
Maxine grew up in Tuttle where she resided until marrying E.R. 'Junior' Jeffries, Jr., whom she met at Tuttle school. Maxine and Junior lived on a farm east of Amber for 63 years until Junior's death in October 2009.
Maxine enjoyed cooking, sewing, flower arranging and gardening. She enjoyed her family and neighbors who loved her stories and comical antics. Maxine was a member of the Tuttle Church of Christ and later the Central Church of Christ in Chickasha until her health kept her from attending. After the passing of her husband, Maxine moved to the Oklahoma City area to be near her daughters.
She is preceded in death by her husband, E.R. 'Junior' Jeffries; her parents, Ray and Eula Bowers; 2 brothers, Jake Cobble and Hunk Cobble; and 2 sisters, Eva Mae Crowder and Ruby Ikard.
Maxine is survived by her 2 daughters: Pam Weber and her husband, Dennis
and Lora Evans and her husband, Joe;
Granddaughters: Jennifer Dejonge, Amber Mason and Kelly Evans;
Great grandchildren: Brooklyn Mason, Alexandria Mason, Lincoln Mason, Jonah Dejonge and Evey Dejonge;
1 sister, Helen Greenroyd and
1 brother, Jim Bowers.
