Mary Etta Wright

Mary Etta (Mayo) Wright was born May 14, 1936 in Cleburne, Texas to Taylor Wilford and Larue (Kesee) Mayo.  She passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2017 in Chickasha, Oklahoma at the age of 80.

Mary Etta grew up in Greenville, TX and completed high school there in 1954.   She moved to Bethany, OK where she attended Bethany Nazarene College.  There she met her first husband, Jim Elliott of Tampa, Florida.  They lived in Ponca City, OK; Oklahoma City, OK; Olathe, KS and together raised their three children, Keith, Kim and Kyle.

Mary Etta worked as a secretary at Mid-America Nazarene College in Olathe, KS and was a retail sales clerk at CR Anthony in Oklahoma City and Edwards dress shop in Ponca City.

She married Bernard Wright in 1992 and they settled in Chickasha, OK where they resided for the last 24 years.

Friends and family remember her beautiful smile and her love of laughter.  She will be missed and loved always.

She is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, H.W. Mayo; and a nephew, Paul Mayo.

Mary Etta is survived by her husband, Bernard Wright of Chickasha, OK;

A daughter, Kim Bryan of Bethany, OK;

2 sons: Keith Elliott of Edmond, OK;

Kyle Elliott of San Francisco, CA;

8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
