Mark Eugene Chappell; beloved Husband, Father, Pops and Super Hero joined Heavens choir to sing with angels on Thursday, September 19, 2024.
Born in Bakersfield, CA on February 7, 1962; Mark moved to Oklahoma at the age of 9, graduated from Moore High School, married the love of his life LaDonna, and continued with college while raising a family in South Oklahoma City. At OG&E he was a lineman, at Integris Baptist he was the head Electrician; but that fails to describe a man who could fix literally everything. When he dressed and sang like Elvis you thought he WAS Elvis! His love of restoring classic cars was well known; but above all he loved his family. A loyal husband for 35 years and Dad who was at every wrestling match and cheer/diving competition even when he had to work nights; he never missed a single event.
He took his son to every Batman movie since 1989 and was never too busy or too tired to be your hero. He enjoyed going to swap meets, antique stores, making custom drawings and cool stuff for his family. Whether it was family vacations, summers at the lake or just tinkering on a project or car; he valued the simple things most. He loved being Pops and spending time with his Tot Rod Emberlyn, playing with Pixie Puppy or just eating with his kids. For Father's day, he just wanted to be at church with his family; never missing the chance to share his love of the Lord and the importance of being ready for God to call you home at any moment.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. His legacy of love and kindness is carried on by his son and best buddy Corey Chappell and Pixie Puppy, his Daughter and Monkey Girl Katelyn Schmidt and Husband Alex, his Granddaughter and #1 Tot Rod Emberlyn, wife of 35 years LaDonna and husband, David, loving Aunt Doris Erhart and Husband Mike, beloved Cousin Aaron Erhart, Niece Theresa (TJ) Richenson and her family, Uncle Owen, Brother Troy Chappell and wife Janet; as well as his multiple nieces and nephews and their families, Uncle Doyle and wife Sue; who were like parents to him after his passed, as well as a host of extended family from Seminole and Okfuskee counties all of whom he loved dearly.
Thank you, Dad, for being the best, you were our hero, and we love you! A hero never leaves; they just become a legend!
