Marie Morris

Edna Marie Morris, of Alex, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at her home in Alex at the age of 85.  She was born September 28, 1932 in Tabler, Oklahoma to Annie Irne Hill and was raised by her grandparents, Perry and Frankie (Ashford) Hill.

Marie married Elijah Coy "E.C.", "JR" Morris on August 20, 1950 in Chickasha at 18 years of age.  Shortly after, they moved to Camp Carson in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  While living in Colorado, Ronnie and Dale were born.  They moved back to Oklahoma and Sharon and Carolyn were born.

Marie worked for Purdue Industries, which later became Southgate Industries, from which she retired.  They moved to Alex in 1986 where she took care of "EC" until he passed away in 1993.  She then traveled and visited family.

Marie meet JT Burns in 2006 and they continued their travels, even to California.  In 2014, she had a stroke and JT has taken care of her for the last 3 ½ years.

She was a member of Westside Church of Christ, Women's Auxiliary of Disabled Veterans and Senior Citizens Center in Alex, OK.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Perry and Frankie Hill; mother, Annie Irene Hill; husband, Elijah Coy Morris; son, Alan Dale Morris; daughters, Carolyn Sue Williams and Sharon Marie Sturgeon; grandson, Felix "Hammer" Williams III.

Marie is survived by her companion, JT Burns of Alex, OK;

Son, Ronnie Morris and wife, Dianna, of Chickasha, OK;

Son-in-law, Felix Williams, Jr and wife, Mary, of Alex, OK;

Mandy McCarney of Lawton, OK;
Denice Mullin and fiancé, Phillip Keahey, of Sayre, OK;
Janeta Montalbo and husband, Mike, of Oklahoma City, OK;

Echo Tompkins and husband, Shawn, of Purcell, OK;
Joshua Morris and Sarah of Chickasha, OK;
Misty Salie and husband, Chris, of Lindsay, OK;
Cecilia Walthall and husband, William, of Alex, OK;

And many great and great-great grandchildren.
