Louis F. Schlecht, of Ninnekah, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2018 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 80.  He was born April 6, 1938 at Amber, Oklahoma, the son of Ambrose F. and Mary M. (Novotny) Schlecht.

He lived in Grady County all of his life except from 1967 to 1980 when he was a resident of Comanche County.  He graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in 1957.  He had joined the Army Reserves in 1956 and was an active member until 1965 when he became employed by the Department of Defense at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma.

Louis was a retired civil service worker.  He worked in the Ninnekah Post Office from 1959 to 1965 and at Ft. Sill from 1965 to 1980 as a classified information clerk for the Field Artillery School, after which time he returned to farming/ranching in the Ninnekah area.

He was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church.

Louis is survived by brother, John A. Schlecht of Ninnekah;
Sister, Jo Ann L. Yearwood of Mt. Airy, GA;

And a host of nieces and nephews.
