Lon Leroy Wampler passed away Sunday, April 9, 2017 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 92. Lon was born in Tuttle, Oklahoma to George and Margaret (Maggie) Wampler on September 7, 1924.
Lon joined the military in 1942 and served in WWII, the Korean and Vietnam wars. He retired from the Air Force in 1968 and returned to Tuttle where he started the Otasco store.
Lon is survived by his wife, NaVonda Wampler, of Blanchard, OK;
His daughter, Karen Morris of Tuttle, OK;
His daughter-in-law, Anita Wampler of New Mexico;
Step-son, Chris Woolley and family of Blanchard, OK;
Step-daughter, Dana Hines of Blanchard, OK;
Grandsons: Todd Morris and wife, Dayla, of Tuttle, OK;
John Wampler and wife, Katrina, of Georgia;
Granddaughters: Tonia Burgess and husband, Chris, of Moore, OK;
Deirdre Wampler of New Mexico;
He leaves behind numerous great grandchildren, three sisters and many nieces and nephews.
Lon was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 56 years, Lavon Wampler; son, Jack L. Wampler, two brothers and two sisters.
