Lola Aileene Brakefield McGill

1937 - 2023

Lola Aileene Brakefield McGill, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on November 8, 2023 in Chickasha, Oklahoma at the age of 86.

She was born on February 20, 1937 in Hobart, Oklahoma to David and Avis Brakefield. As a young girl, Aileene loved riding her horse Dolly and helping her dad manage their family ranch. She loved playing basketball for the Pittsburg High School Panthers. She left high school early to marry the love of her life, Charley McGill, on December 31, 1952. They started a family together and were married for 63 wonderful years until Charley's passing in 2016.

Aileene and Charley made their home in Chickasha since 1974. After raising her children, Aileene obtained her GED and became a licensed realtor. Together they owned and operated McGill Real Estate for many years.

Aileene was a devout Christian who loved listening to Charley play guitar and lead worship services. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter Jennifer McGill, daughter-in-law Vickey McGill, and siblings Lynell Toole, Jack Brakefield, and Tony Brakefield.

Aileene is survived by her four children: Rick McGill, Michael McGill (Virginia), Dan McGill (Kelly), and Charleene McGill-Faubion (Shelly Faubion); five grandchildren: Monica Rempe (Jonathan), David McGill (Beth), Wade McGill, Katie Garner, and Austin Garner; two bonus grandchildren Morgan Evans and Seth Blackwood; and seven great-grandchildren; Jacob Rempe, Jared Rempe, Milan McGill, Harrison McGill, Charley McGill, Gianni McGill, Lance Hutter.

Aileene's viewing will be at Sevier's Funeral Home 702 W. Chickasha Avenue until her funeral. A graveside service will be held at Fairlawn Cemetery in Chickasha, officiated by Reverend Kim Hayes. The family invites friends to share memories and condolences at www.sevierfuneralhome.com.

Aileene's greatest joy was her family. She will be dearly missed but her memory will live on through the many lives she touched.
