Lois Geneva Edwards

Lois Geneva Edwards passed peacefully at her home from this earth and through the Eternal Gates of Heaven on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at the age of 95 years, 5 months, and 29 days. Lois was born in Paris, Texas on August 19, 1926 to William and Oma Yancey. Lois Edwards resided at her rural home southeast of Anadarko, OK till the time of her passing.

Lois and her family moved to Verden, OK in 1942 where she formed friendships which lasted throughout her life. Lois graduated from Verden High School in 1945 at the age of 18. She graduated on a Friday evening and married the Love of her Life the very next day. Lois and Millard Edwards were married on May 19, 1945 in Chickasha, OK. To this union there were five children: Judy Beth, Gary Don, Laura Kay, Sue Lyn, and Vernon Craig.

Lois served GOD faithfully after accepting Christ as her Savior at the age of 14 while living at Price Falls, OK. Lois was saved at Falls Creek, OK. Lois witnessed to everyone she met through life and led many to Christ Jesus. Her home church was Bible Baptist Church in Chickasha at the time of her passing.

Lois worked for Wal-Mart in Anadarko, retiring at the age of 79, as Manager of the Fabric Department. She was a highly accomplished seamstress, and she took great pride in each sewing project which included making clothes for her children. Many of her grandchildren are honored to have been taught to sew by their grandmother. Lois made long lasting friendships while working at Wal-Mart and each one held a special place in her heart. Lois loved to work and continued to care for herself, her home, her shopping, etc. up till the time of her decline in December of 2021.

Lois is survived by her sister, Loretha Malone of Marlow, OK; her children; Gary and Barbara Edwards of Chickasha, Ok, Laura Hopkins of Iowa Park, Tx, Sue and Donnie Ledford of Rush Springs, Ok, and Craig and Krista Edwards of Anadarko, OK.; Son-in-Law, Lee Taylor of Anadarko, Ok; Fourteen Grandchildren; Thirty-Three Great Grandchildren; her Three Great-Great-Grandchildren who are anxiously expected this year; and her much loved "Musketeers", Ina Howell, Nawassa Livingston, and Helen Ambrose.

Lois is preceded in Death by; her husband of 70 years, Millard V. Edwards; her daughter Judy Taylor; her Siblings, Helen Gertrude, William Lloyd, Prentis Darrel, Glen Ray, Opal Oneida, and Harold Wayne; and her grandchild, Janina Lewis.

Funeral Services for Lois Edwards will be Monday, February 21, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Bible Baptist Church, located at 226 S. 29th Street; Chickasha, OK. Services are under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. Burial will be at Laverty Cemetery following the Service. A meal for the Family will be at Bible Baptist following the Burial.
