Graveside service for Dwayne Thomas will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Fairlawn Cemetery in Chickasha, OK under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Viewing of Mr. Thomas will be held at Sevier Funeral Home on Thursday, September 3, 2026 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday, September 4, 2026 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

In Loving Memory of Leroy Dwayne Thomas

December 17, 1943 – August 31, 2026

Leroy Dwayne Thomas, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 31, 2026, at the age of 82.

Leroy was born on December 17, 1943, to Lewis Thomas and Josephine Kennell. On May 27, 1964, he married the love of his life, Marlene. Together, they shared more than 62 years of marriage, building a life and a family filled with love, memories, laughter, and countless blessings.

To those who knew him, Leroy was so much more than the names listed in an obituary. He was a husband who loved his wife, a Dad who loved his children, and a grandfather whose family was one of his greatest treasures. His presence brought a sense of strength and comfort to those around him, and his love for his family will continue to live on through the generations.

Leroy is survived by his beloved wife, Marlene, and their three children, Judy Calhoun, Linda Johnson, and Joann Sharp; his adopted sister, Rosie Blevins; half-sisters Carolyn Belk and husband Toy Belk, Bonnie Storts and husband Bruce Storts, and Mary Ann Slaton; half-brother Raymond Thomas; 12 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren as well as many close friends.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Melvin Thomas and Marvin Thomas.

Leroy leaves behind a legacy that cannot be measured simply by the years he lived, but by the lives he touched and the family he built. His greatest gift was the love, skill, and knowledge he gave to those around him—a love that will continue through his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know him.

Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we find comfort in knowing that Dad is now resting in the presence of his Lord and Savior. We will miss his voice, his smile, his stories, and simply having him here with us.

A piece of our hearts went with him when he left, but the love he gave us will remain in our hearts forever.
