Leona Faye Shoemake

Leona Faye Shoemake was born November 6, 1935 in Synder, Texas to James Hudie and Tempa Irene (Barrett) Armstrong.  She passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at her son Dale's home in Alex, Oklahoma at the age of 80.

Leona grew up in Naples and graduated from Chickasha High School.  She married Robert Wayne Shoemake on October 19, 1952 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.  They lived and farmed southeast of Chickasha and they were members of the First Baptist Church, Chickasha, OK.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Shoemake on January 2, 2007 and her parents, James and Tempa Armstrong.

Leona is survived by her 3 children:
Gary Wayne Shoemake and wife, Sharon, of Chickasha, OK;

James Dale Shoemake of Bradley, OK;

Lea Ann Francis of Oceanside, CA;

3 grandchildren:  Christal Gale Bates and husband, Chris;

Ami Dawn Settle;

Kyle Wayne Shoemake and wife, Megan;

7 great grandchildren

2 sisters: Betty Keck of Frisco, TX; and Frankie Parr of Oklahoma City, OK.
