Larry Wayne McCarthey

Larry Wayne McCarthey, 81, of Tuttle, Oklahoma, passed away on October 7th, 2025 in Tucson, Arizona.  He was born on March 5, 1944, in the family home in Tuttle, OK to Henry Archibald McCarthey and Mary "Lucille" McCarthey.

He was married to Jerri McCarthey and they were together for 27 years.  He worked for the Oklahoman newspaper for most of his life as an engraver.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jerri, his son, Chris McCarthey, and his daughter, Heather Johnston.

He is survived by his sisters, Devota Bowers and Judy Shields, his daughters Tammy and Tracy McCarthey, his son Phillip McCarthey, and grandchildren Bryson McCarthey, Shane McCarthey, Christian McCarthey, Jocelyn, and Kiernan.

A celebration of life will be held graveside at the Fairview Cemetery in Tuttle, Oklahoma on November 1st at 1:00 p.m.  under the directon of Sevier Funeral Home.

People are encouraged to wear casual clothing.  He loved OU sports and the beach, so wear your favorite sports wear or Hawaiian shirts.
