Larry Howard

Larry Jackson Howard went to his Eternal Resting Place on Thursday, December 7, 2017 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 63.  Larry was born May 15, 1954 in Chickasha to Rubin and Alpha (Swindell) Howard.

He graduated from Amber-Pocasset in 1972 and later graduated from Missouri Auction School.  He was associated with Charlie Brown Auction and OK Cow Sales since the age of 16 until his death.

Larry married Carolyn Still on August 9, 1974 in Ninnekah, OK at the Ninnekah First Baptist Church and from this union two sons were born, Jason and Codey.  He was an active member of the Ninnekah First Baptist Church where he served door greeter for many years.

Larry volunteered his services as auctioneer to many organizations, one of which was for his Alma Mater, Am-Po FFA program.  He had also auctioneered for the Grady County Premium Auctions for over 40 years.

He was a member of the State Auctioneer Association and Honorary Chapter Farmer with the Ninnekah Public Schools and the Chickasha Public Schools.  He was awarded the State FFA Degree and was chosen as Grady County Volunteer of the Year, Grady County RSVP and Ninnekah Citizen of the Year.  He served on the Ninnekah School Board for many years and was an Honorary School Board Member.

Larry was a devoted husband and father to his wife and sons.  He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed hunting and square dancing.  He and Carolyn were members of the Swinging Chicks and Centennial Square Dance Club for many years.

Larry is preceded in death by a son, Jason in 1993 and his parents.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Howard;
And his devoted son, Codey John Howard;
Sisters:  Roberta Ellis, Beth Black and Shari Kinsey;
And his mother-in-law, Faye Still;

And several nieces, nephews and other family and special friends.
