Klova Dee Estes Shaw was born on October 15, 1925 in Amber, Oklahoma and passed from this life on May 7, 2020 at the age of 94. She was the oldest of six children born to William D. and Hettie Devera Garrett Estes. Klova Dee was educated primarily at Amber, Oklahoma along with several other rural schools. She married Noah Wilbur Shaw, Jr., on November 27, 1941, Thanksgiving Day. She lived with her parents and first daughter, Wanda Darleen, while her husband served in the US Navy Seabees during World War II. After the war, they lived in Tuttle, Oklahoma and Miami, Oklahoma until moving permanently to Chickasha where Wilbur worked as a watchmaker and jewelry designer for Frye's Jewelry. They eventually purchased Frye's and operated it for over 40 years. Wilbur became well known as a talented master jeweler.
For many years, Klova Dee was primarily a mother and homemaker and had two more daughters: Delores Ann and Kathy Dianne. She was as gifted in homemaking as Wilbur was a gifted jeweler. An excellent cook and accomplished seamstress, she did well at whatever she attempted. Klova Dee later worked as the financial secretary for Epworth United Methodist Church for 10 years, before leaving that to help manage the business side of Frye's Jewelry. Klova Dee, along with Wilbur, was active as a member of Epworth United Methodist Church and both sang in the choir for many years. Klova Dee was especially interested in working with organizations whose purpose was helping people in need and was active in the church's Circle groups, McDowell Music Club and other local clubs.
Klova Dee was preceded in death by her parents, William D and Hettie Devera Estes, her husband, Noah Wilbur Shaw, one brother, Kenneth Estes, two brother's in law, Don Martin and Stanley Best, two son's in law, Brent Robinson and Keith Harrison, and two sister's in law, Eddie and Diana Estes.
She is survived by three daughters: Darleen Harrison, Delores Horn, and Dianne Robinson Boyse. Two sons' in law: Scott Horn and Colin Boyse. Two sisters: Joyce Martin and Irma Best. Two brothers: Leon and Donald Estes. 8 grandchildren: Jason and Jennifer Harrison, Ryan, Aaron and Lucas Horn, Jamie Suppanz, Blake and Lance Robinson. 9 great grandchildren: Fischer, Miles, Lily and Davis Robinson, Noah Suppanz, Sage, Amber, Everett and Archer Horn as well as several nieces and nephews.
A private burial will be held at Fairlawn Cemetery on Tuesday, May 12, 2020. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
