Kenneth Ray Hawkins was born June 9, 1929 in Purcell, OK to Sherman and Maggie Elizabeth (Lynn) Hawkins. He passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at his home in Chickasha at the age of 85. Ray grew up in Lindsay area and graduated from Hughes High School. He enlisted into the United States Air Force in 1949 and retired from the Air Force in 1969. He married Patricia L. Francis on December 19, 1957 in Claude, TX. They lived in many cities during his Air Force career including, Amarillo, TX; Izmir Turkey; McConnell AFB near Wichita, Kansas; Edwards AFB in southern California; and Vandenberg AFB near Lompoc, California where he was stationed when retired. Ray and his family moved to Chickasha in 1969 where he has lived since. He had worked for Linville Trailer, Chisholm Concrete and then for Chickasha Lock Shop until he bought the business in 1974. He owned and operated Chickasha Lock Shop until 2004. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Pat Hawkins on October 13, 2004; son-in-law, Brian Kennell in 2014; 2 brothers: Marvin and Tommy Hawkins; and sisters: Betty Ann Hawkins, Modell Whitley, Maryellen Wilson; brother-in-law, Freddie Harris. Ray is survived by his 2 daughters Kim Kennell of Chickasha, Oklahoma and Debbie Brush and her husband, Scott, of Blanchard, OK, brother- in-law Calvert Francis, and a sister-in-law Kay Harris. 6 grandchildren: Chris Kennell and his wife, Crystal; Matthew Kennell and his wife, Jennifer; Jeromy Brush and his wife, Lacey; David Brush and his wife, Jennifer; Cody Frahm; and Maci Brush 7 great grandchildren: Kaeden Kennell, Kaeler Kennell, Cason Kennell, Levi Brush, Brayden Brush, Calum Frahm and Wallin Fraham A brother, Jimmy Hawkins and his wife, Shirley 2 sisters: Janie Eades and Jo Pugh and her husband, Edward And many nieces, nephews including Brandon Harris and wife, Heather; Bronson Harris and wife, Amy; and Dylan Harris and wife, Donitta; and other family.
