Joyce L. Pechacek

Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m, Friday, January 8, 2021 at Sharon Baptist Church, Chickasha, OK.

Joyce L. Pechacek was born September 28, 1935 in Prague, OK.  She passed from this life on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 in Chickasha, OK.  She was born to George Leroy Pruitt and Clara Estelle (Shreves) Pruitt.

She grew up in the Little and Prairie Valley area and graduated from Prague High School.  On October 5, 1956 she married Jodie Pechacek in Prague, OK.  From this union they had two children, Randy Joe and Teri Ann.  During her life she lived in various locations in Oklahoma because of her husband's job, finally settling in Chickasha, OK in 1973.

She worked for Dr. Rollins in Prague, OK and Dr. McDougal in Chickasha, OK, of which she retired after 21 years.  Her hobbies included sewing and embriodery.

She was a member of Sharon Baptist Church for many years.

Joyce will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by both her parents, her husband Jodie, son Randy Joe, sister Lola Mae McGehee, brother Dick Pruitt, 3 brothers-in-law: Tommi Pechacek, Gene Pace and DeLloyd McGehee Sr.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Teri Ann and husband Brad Rayburn of Chickasha, OK;

A sister, Naomi Pace of Seminole, OK;

Sisters-in-law, Annette Pruitt of Arlington, TX, and Edalene Pechacek of Prague, OK;

6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and friends.

The family is greatly appreciative and would like to thank Home Health and Grady Memorial Hospital ICU for the compassion and care they showed to Joyce.

Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home, Chickasha, OK.
