John Reece Wilson, 70, of Chickasha, passed away Feb. 10, 2021 in Lakewood Ranch, Florida, after a brief illness. A memorial is planned for late March.
John was born May, 26, 1950 in Blanchard, to James Wilson and Ernestene Anderson. He married Vicki Lynn Jackson on Jan.18, 1972 in Chickasha.
John found a calling in taking Christian medical teams around the world for more than 35 years. For 18 years he operated his own ministry, Faith Medical Missions, based out of Chickasha. John shepherded volunteer teams that took free medical care and the Gospel on four trips a year to locations in Central and South America, Romania, Thailand, Cambodia and others.
John was devoted to his family, and loved spending time with them. He was also an accomplished golfer who loved the sport.
John was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his mother, Ernestene Anderson; wife, Vicki, of the home; daughter, Dereth Harrison and her husband, Bj, of Blanchard; and son, Reece Wilson and wife, Amy, of Blanchard; grandchildren, Taylor Brooks and husband, Blaine, of Blanchard; Bailey Wilson of Blanchard; Trevor Harrison and wife, Taylor, of Blanchard; and Hunter Harrison, of Blanchard; Taylor Sharp-Creps, Casey Sharp, Kassidy Sharp and Jade Creps of Blanchard; great-grandchildren, Brewer, Brett and Baron Brooks, of Blanchard; and Beckham and Maverick Harrison, of Blanchard; one brother, Gary Wilson and wife, Angela, of Morristown, New Jersey; and one sister, Jana Oates and husband, Phil, of Sacramento, California; and a host of nieces and nephews. He leaves behind countless friends around the world.
Arrangements are under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. Interment will be at Fairlawn Cemetery at a private burial service.
