Private graveside service will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at the Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be sent to the 1st Baptist Church of Chickasha, for Kirk's missionary work in Guatemala.
Joe Carl Lightfield, of Chickasha, OK, was born February 14, 1932 to Clarence Arthur and Nellie Marie (Joslin) Lightfield. He passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2020 in Chickasha, OK at the age of 88.
He was married to JoAnne Campbell on October 3, 1951. Joe served in the Air Force from 1951 - 1953, receiving an honorable discharge. He was stationed in Tripoli, Libia.
Upon his return to the states he held many delivery service jobs in Chickasha. His favorite work was when they purchased a dry cleaner and laundry. Joe's Cleaners was first located in Grandview shopping center, then later moved to 6th street near Grand Avenue. He took pride in starching and pressing blue jeans so well they could stand on their own.
Joe was a deacon at Trinity Baptist Church, then at Sharon Baptist Church where he served for over 30 years in various roles.
Joe was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years JoAnne, and by his oldest son, Carl.
He is survived by his daughter Kathy Manning of Eugene, Oregon;
son Kirk Lightfield and his wife, Michelle, of Guatemala;
10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren;
and a sister Madaline Thompson of Cyril, OK.
