Joe Morris Johnson

Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 15, 2019 at the Ft. Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, OK under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Joe Morris Johnson, of Ninnekah, Oklahoma passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at home in Ninnekah at the age of 87.

Joe was born February 17, 1932 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Samuel Jay Johnson and Della Alean (Golemon) Johnson. Joe and Georgia (Richardson) were married on November 24, 1954 in Chickasha, of this union born their five children, Cindy, Barbara, Daniel, Laura and Matthew.  Joe had 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.  Joe spent 20 years in the Air Force and over 20 years at Gabriel, he retired in 1999.

While Joe was in the military he was stationed in Japan, Puerto Rico, Greenland and Taiwan.  They also lived in the state of Maine for nearly 7 years.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Loyd and Floyd and sister Kathryn, daughter Barbara and great granddaughter Bailey.

Joe is survived by his wife of 64 years Georgia Johnson of Ninnekah, Oklahoma;

Four children:  Cindi Van Dyke and husband, Richard of Grove, Oklahoma; Laura Morris and husband, Todd of Ninnekah, Oklahoma; Matthew Johnson and wife, Dianna of Cement, Oklahoma; and Dan Johnson and wife, Kathy of Bridge Creek, Oklahoma;

11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
