Jimmy D. Trotter

July 11, 1958 — December 28, 2018

Chickasha

James "Jimmy" Duane Trotter was born July 11, 1958, in Odessa, Texas, to Leroy and Shirle Trotter of Chickasha. Known to most friends and family as Jimmy, he was better known to his grand-babies as Papa, Dad to his four sons, and Jimbo to everyone when the occasion called for it.  He passed away on Friday, December 28, 2018 at his home.

A graduate of the Class of 1977, Jimmy attended Chickasha Public High School. Jimmy was the true epitome of the "American working-man," being a jack of all trades and master of none. For many years he worked for his dad Leroy in the horse trailer business, worked in the oilfield as a technician, worked in industrial fabrication and iron works, among many others. Jimmy was a hard worker who believed in doing a job right the first time.

Jimmy loved working on his farm, doing home improvement projects, and any excuse to use his welder. He was a car guy and Camaro fanatic.  He enjoyed watching westerns and black and white movie classics. He loved collecting coins new and old. Among his hobbies and interests, none were greater than his grand-babies. Jimmy spent most of his time rolling in the floor with his grand-babies, playing trucks, wrestling, tickling, laughing, and playing games on their tablets.

Jimmy is preceded in death by: parents Leroy and Shirle Trotter, niece Ashley Cooke, mother-in-law Joetta Davidson, and sister-in-law Sharon Davidson. He is survived by: wife Karen Trotter of the home; son Jerrami Trotter  (Robin) of Dibble, son Michael Winkler (Christina) of Tulsa, son Kyle Trotter (Caroline) of Blanchard, son Brandon Winkler (Hannah) of Chickasha; father-in-law Harvey Davidson of Pocasset; grand-children Larrami, Kyson, Kynzlee, Gavin, Levi, Bryor; sister Terri Keck of Yukon; brother Danny Trotter of Chickasha; brother-in-law Doug Davidson (Saundra) of Bartlesville; nephew Daniel Trotter (Paige) of Chickasha, nephew Chris Davidson (Kim) of Norman; niece Laura Davidson of Norman; great-niece Tatum Trotter; among numerous aunts, uncles, and loving friends.
